The Mwalimu Nyerere Memorial Academy (MNMA) is a public higher learning institution located in Kigamboni, Dar es Salaam, near the Kigamboni ferry and overlooking the Indian Ocean. The academy was established in 1961 as Kivukoni College, later becoming Kivukoni Academy of Social Sciences, and eventually gaining its current status as MNMA in 2005 through an Act of Parliament.
MNMA is known for offering education and training that emphasize social sciences, leadership, management, development studies, and education. The institution’s mission is strongly inspired by the ideals and legacy of Mwalimu Julius Nyerere.
