A Fully Funded Opportunity for Young African Leaders, The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at Pan-Atlantic University (PAU) offers a fully funded scholarship for academically talented, economically disadvantaged young Africans to pursue undergraduate degrees in Nigeria. The program is designed to develop the next generation of leaders who will contribute to social and economic transformation across the continent.
Pan-Atlantic University is proud to be the first Nigerian university to partner with the Mastercard Foundation on this initiative. Over the next ten years, the program aims to educate and empower 650 young scholars.
Who Can Apply
This opportunity is open to young Africans who meet the following criteria:
- Strong academic performance
- Demonstrated leadership potential
- Financial need
- Young women interested in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)
- Internally displaced persons
- Young people living with disabilities
- Commitment to community service
Minimum Academic Requirements
- At least five O’Level credits, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in no more than two sittings (WAEC, NECO, GCE, or NABTEB)
- A minimum UTME score of 220
- UTME subject combination must include English Language and any three subjects from the Social Sciences, Arts, or Sciences

Step 1: Confirm Academic Eligibility
Applicants must meet the minimum academic requirements listed above.
Step 2: Indicate Interest (If Awaiting UTME Results)
If you haven’t yet received your UTME results, you can begin the process by submitting an Interest Form.

Step 3: Sit for the UTME Exam
Applicants must register for and sit the UTME and obtain a minimum score of 220.
Step 4: Complete the Online Application
Once UTME results are available, eligible applicants should complete and submit the online application form. This will include academic records, personal information, and documentation to prove eligibility.

Step 5: Screening and Interview
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview, which may be conducted either in person or online.
Step 6: Admission and Scholarship Award
