Responsibilities

General Internship

  • Attend and report on policy events to UNDP staff
  • Respond to external inquiries and support communications
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of UNDP events
  • Maintain and update contact databases, including media and government contacts
  • Contribute to daily administrative and operational tasks

Communications & Outreach Internship

  • Maintain and update the UNDP Washington website
  • Support implementation of communication strategies (experience with audio/video tools is a plus)
  • Conduct research and assist with the creation of content for publication
  • Monitor media and social media, and prepare daily news summaries
  • Participate in public outreach and engagement efforts

Eligibility Criteria

  • Open to applicants of all nationalities
  • Candidates are responsible for securing a visa, if required
  • Must be currently enrolled in a graduate program or in the final year of a Bachelor’s program, or be a recent graduate
  • Applicants must be eligible to return to their studies after completing the internship
  • Must be available for at least three consecutive months
  • Strong commitment to the values and principles of the United Nations and UNDP
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills
